Two Component, Epoxy System for Bonding, Sealing, Coating, and Encapsulation

Master Bond® EP45HT is a two component epoxy system with exceptional performance as an adhesive, sealant, coating and casting material in hostile environments. It is most noteworthy for its exquisite resistance to higher temperature and its ability to withstand many contentious chemicals. EP45HT is a specialty type system with a 100 to 30 mix ratio by weight. This moderate viscosity material has good flow properties and is easy to mix at room temperature. It is not formulated to cure at room temperature and requires oven curing at 250-300 ºF. To optimize properties, a typical curing schedule would be 2-3 hours at 300 ºF followed by a post cure at 350 ºF for a few hours. EP45HT bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, including metals, composites, glass as well as many plastics and rubbers. Its temperature resistance is truly first rate; -80 ºF to +500 ºF with an excellent performance profile for long-term exposures at 400-450 ºF. Its other strong suit is chemical resistance, particularly to water, acids, bases and most importantly, petrochemicals. It is a superb electrical insulator and offers a full complement of sterling physical properties, including tensile strength, modulus and related properties. The color of Part A is clear and Part B is amber. EP45HT has wide applicability in oil, drilling and related petrochemical applications, aerospace, electronic and specialty OEM and related industries where this unique high performance medley of properties is desirable.
