Master Bond® EP90FR-V is a two component flame retardant epoxy system for bonding, sealing, coating and potting. It has been tested to the standards mentioned above, and fully complies with the rigorous vertical burn test specification. This allows it to be considered for use in highly specialized aviation applications. The most noteworthy applications include interior panels, door frame lining and floor and door assemblies. Since it is a superior electrical insulator, it is also a candidate for electronic potting and sealing applications. Additionally, it should be noted that EP90FR-V is a non-halogenated type system, which is a big positive with regard to handling and environmental issues.

EP90FR-V has an easy to use, forgiving, one to one mix ratio by weight. This moderate viscosity system has a very long open time with the recommended curing for optimizing properties being overnight at room temperature followed by 3-4 hours at 150-200ºF. It bonds well to a variety of substrates including metals, composites, glass, ceramic and many plastics. The service temperature range is -60ºF to +250ºF. It has good chemical resistance to water, fuels, oils and many common solvents. The color of Part A is black, Part B is white and the cured material is gray. This system is color coded, which facilitates mixing. EP90FR-V is a specialty product primarily for aviation type applications or by extension, in avionic related applications, where the demanding requirements of the vertical burn test are needed.
