During the normal FIBC filling or discharging process static electricity can build up on the insulated surface of the polypropylene bag material creating the potential for a discharge spark capable of igniting a variety of solvent, vaporous, or certain dust environments. Class C bags are manufactured with conductive yarn materials that allow the safe transfer of this energy via grounding cables attached to the bag at pre-designated points. JohnPac can either use fabric which has wire woven with yarns or they can use soft conductive yarns and tapes.
