PTFE fluoropolymer fiber is the most chemically resistant fiber known. It is inert to powerful oxidizing agents, boiling sulfuric acid, fuming nitric acid, boiling aqua regia, and boiling sodium hydroxide. PTFE fiber does not degrade at continuous temperature exposures below 400 ºF. At extremely low temperatures PTFE fiber becomes less ductile, but it can be used at temperatures as low as -450 ºF.
PTFE Fiber has outstanding sunlight and weather resistance, and is one of the most non-flammable organic fibers available. Fibers do not melt or drip.
