N-Methyl Pyrrolidone

N-Methyl Pyrrolidone is a colorless liquid. It is employed as a solvent for coatings, adhesives, dyes, pigments, paint stripping and lube oil extraction, pesticides, polymers, and polyurethane foam cleaning. It is also used as a solvent to prepare 2-alkyl and 2-aryl benzothiazoles, Ullmann ethers, and Stille cross-coupled products. It is utilized in peptide synthesis, polyvinylidene fluoride, polyvinylpyrrolidone and polyether sulfone synthesis, lithium-ion battery production, and crop protection formulations, oil extraction procedures.
