Urea is a white inorganic highly water-soluble solid. It is used in protein resuspension buffer, protein denaturation, and protein isolation from urea-based polyacrylamide gels, to examine the unfolded proteins conformation. It is used as a mordant in textile dyeing, preparing fertilizers, feed additives, resins, and pharmaceuticals.
