Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate (TKPP) is a white hygroscopic solid. It is used as a clay thinner in drilling muds, an emulsifier/texturizer in foods, an anionic dispersant in water-based paints, and a metal ion chelator. Tetrapotassium Pyrophosphate (TKPP) is used in surfactants/detergents, washing cleaning agents, water treatment, and pharmaceutical products. It is also a buffering and dispersing agent.
