Methanol

Methanol, the simplest alcohol, is a colorless liquid. Methanol is widely utilized as a solvent and reagent for numerous chemical reactions. The end products are used in making plastics, paints, adhesives, plywood, construction materials, agrichemicals, and pharmaceuticals. Methanol is used as a reagent in the gas industry, in the production of biodiesel fuel, in the production of petrochemical products, and as a solvent in oil refining. Methanol is also used to fuel cars, trucks, marine vessels, cookstoves, and boilers.
