Zinc Oxide

Zinc oxide is a white inorganic solid. It is used in plastics, ceramics, glass, cement, rubbers, paints, pigments, lubricants, adhesives, sealants, batteries, ferrites, flame-retardant, and bandages. It is commonly used in baby powders, diaper rash creams, calamine creams, antiseptic ointments, and anti-dandruff shampoos and sunscreens. It is used as an additive in the production of concrete, and as an additive in food products (breakfast cereals).
