Ammonium Chloride is a white solid. Ammonium Chloride is mainly used as a component in nitrogen-based fertilizers. Ammonium Chloride is used as a flux, in making metals to be tin-coated, soldered, or galvanized. Ammonium Chloride is utilized as an electrolyte in zinc-carbon batteries and as a thickening agent for surfactant assemblies. Ammonium Chloride is also used to make the photographic contrasting agent in archaeology and paleontology, expectorant in cough drugs, flavoring agents fin licorice. In the textile and leather industry, Ammonium Chloride is employed in dyeing, tanning, textile printing, and lusture cotton.
