Boric Acid

Boric Acid is a white color solid. It is used as a fireproofing agent for wood, buffering agent, a preservative, an antiseptic, fungicide, and an insecticide. Boric Acid is also used in the manufacturing of pottery, glass, cement, porcelain, artificial gems, glazes, enamels, leather, carpets, hats, soaps, and cosmetics products. Boric Acid is utilized in painting, dyeing, tanning, photography, and printing. Boric Acid is also used for hardening steel, and impregnating wicks.
