Steel-on-Steel Metric and Inch Series Formed Outer Race Spherical Plain Bearings

When the performance of a one piece outer ring is desired, AST has options in both Steel-on-Steel and Steel-on-PTFE Composite liners. Due to their one-piece design, these spherical plain bearings have smaller bore dimensions and depending on the series chosen range from 4 mm to 50 mm bores. Unlike most other spherical plain bearings, these are not fractured and subsequently do not have to be held together with rings or screws providing them with excellent load handling capabilities for their size. With both the Steel-on-Steel and the Steel-on-PTFE composite series, the outer ring is made of carbon steel and pressed around the inner ring.
