Maleic Anhydride

Maleic Anhydride is a white solid. It is used to manufacture unsaturated polyester for boats, trucks, autos, buildings, piping, and electrical goods and also in coatings, medicine, surfactants, and plastic additives. It is also used to prepare copolymers and pesticides and in Diels-Alder syntheses. It is employed as an ingredient for the production of 1,4-butanediol and tetrahydrofuran.
