D-Limonene

D-Limonene is a clear colorless liquid with a pleasant lemon-like odor. It is used as a flavoring agent in food items, fragrances in cosmetics, and as a botanical insecticide to repel and kill insects. It is employed as a non-toxic solvent in oleochemical, wax, resin, paint, and glue industries, in analytical chemistry, and in the extraction of lipids from microalgae. It is used clinically to dissolve cholesterol-containing gallstones and to relieve gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) and heartburn.
