Chromic Acid, also known as Chromium(VI) oxide, is a red-violet solid. It is widely used as an oxidizing agent in chemical reactions. Chromic Acid is used in chromium electroplating, aluminum anodizing, copper stripping, corrosion inhibitor, to develop photographs, to purify oil and acetylene, in sulfuric acid as a photoresist stripper, with phosphoric acid as a stripping agent, and as a wood preservative. Chromic Acid is also used in CDs and DVDs.
