Tapered Outer Diameter Ball Bearings with a Flange are specialty products that are designed to overcome mounting problems experienced with using standard bearings in sheet metal or soft metal housings.
The Inner race is extended from the outer race on both sides. Outer diameter tapering is typically 0.068″ per foot but with some product tapered at 0.075″ per foot. These products are available in 400 and DD type series stainless steel in addition to 52100 chrome steel. The series is dimensionally defined in inches with the smallest bore starting at 1/8″ and are as large at 3/8″.
